Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte
With the holiday season in full blast, we are constantly surrounded by all the goodies; Christmas cookies, pumpkin pie, egg nog, you name it. We can’t seem to go anywhere these days without being bombarded by the ever so tempting sugary treats.
But what about those of us who don’t want to completely lose sight of our health goals during the holiday season? Can’t we have some health conscious sweet treats to indulge in? Well, that’s where I come in. Every weekend rounding up to Christmas Day, I’ll be posting a delicious holiday treat for you to indulge in... sans the guilt.
You are welcome.
So this weekend I present to you....
The Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte
As many of you already know, I love a good healthy herbal tonic. This elixir is anti inflammatory, immune boosting, hormone balancing, and detoxifying. I’m literally drinking it right now as I type this and it is undeniably delicious. And! In proper Emily fashion, it’s a super easy, minimalistic recipe. You can adjust the quantities of each ingredient to fit your own personal preferences. I myself like a little less sweet, more bitter, so these are my proportions.
Ingredients
1-2 tbsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
2 tsp dandelion root powder
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (I got mine from Trader Joe's)
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
Spoonful coconut oil
Honey to taste (optional)
Instructions
+ Boil 2 cups water
+ In a blender or nutribullet, blend turmeric, black pepper, dandelion, pumpkin spice, coconut oil, almond milk, and boiled water. Liquid will become smooth and frothy.
+ Pour into your favorite holiday mug
+ Add honey if desired
+ Enjoy!
Let me know if you try this recipe! Do you have any yummy healthy holiday favorites? I’d love to hear them! Wishing you all a healthy, high vibe holiday season!
Yours truly,
-E
